1) What is a newborn session?

Newborn sessions are typically for babies under 6 weeks of age. These sessions take place in the comfort of your home. I keep the session personal, and focus on the little details, especially the bond you, your partner, and other children have with the baby. My standard package offers a flexible time schedule tailored for newborns (see below).

2) How long will the session take?

My typical portrait sessions take about an hour. With newborn sessions that include feeding times and diaper changes, I anticipate them to be around 1.5-2 hours. My documentary sessions are typically 2 (mini) or 4 (half day) hours in length.

3) What should I wear?

This is one of the most commonly asked questions. Everyone in the session should be comfortable in what they wear. If you are taking photos for holiday cards, neutral tones generally work best.

4) What if our sweet child doesn’t cooperate?

Don’t worry - I love and have plenty of experience working with all kinds of children! As long as the parents are relaxed and are having fun, the photos will turn out just fine. My style of photography lends well to the unexpected emotions of children. I also keep my sessions light-hearted and fun for everyone.

5) How many images will I receive from my session?

It depends on many factors, such as lighting conditions, the number of subjects, and how crowded the location is.  Typically you will receive 40-60 edited images from a standard photo session. I edit only images that are deemed professional quality and within my artistic standards.  As per industry standard, test shots and duplicates are not edited and will not be released.

6) What is a photo release?

This is standard practice in professional photography. Photographers need to have a portfolio to stay in business.   A photo release allows me to showcase my ability to deliver creative and consistently high-quality images to potential clients.

7) What if I want my privacy?

If you do not wish your photos to be used in my portfolio, social media, or on webpages, I completely understand and respect your decision. Please understand that a photographer without photos to show in their portfolio will not get hired! For this reason, there is an $95 privacy fee attached to your session if you do not wish your photos to be included in my portfolio.

8) What about a print release?

All my packages provide a print release. A print release gives you permission to reproduce my images for your own personal use.

9) Is there a travel fee?

There is no travel fee for standard sessions within 10 miles of Brookline. Sessions outside of this 10 mile radius will incur a travel fee.

10) How long does it take to receive my photos?

Your online gallery will be delivered 7-14 days after the session. Large events, the busy fall season, or extended family sessions may take a few days longer.
